Long drive today, 900km! Now we are in the south of Germany, looking forward to some RC!
This was really the first real day. Yesterday we just drove to the boat. Today we got up at 6am when we arrived in Stockholm and drove about 4-5h to Eksjö where our maniac team driver and Swedish JQRacing representative lives, Max Johansson. We had breakfast with him and his grand parents, and headed to his home track. After turning some laps with Max’s car we then continued for another 8h or so through Denmark all the way to northern Germany, where we stopped at Mervyn Mulleräs house. He has his own marketing /graphic design company Marshland Media and is responsible for JQRacing’s team image, and RTR boxes amongst other things. So if you want to look as cool as us, you know who to call! 🙂 Had a BBQ and bullshitted into the night. Now it’s time for some rest. Tomorrow we have another 9h or so to drive, to the south of Germany!
So it begins once again! Today I picked up Max Mört and we began our epic EURO Road Trip! Today we are taking the boat over to Sweden, then drive all day through Sweden and Denmark to Germany. There we will find some more than likely economical and sketchy place to spend the night, before heading to…well I don’t even know exactly, but somewhere further south in Germany. This week end we are racing at LA SpeedWay in….somewhere in Germany. Then next weeks Monday we head to France, to spend some time with Rayan Medjoubi and his family. We will together prepare for the Euros. Rayan left JQ, but we still love him…that bastard!!!
More later. Now we need to film some road trip video.
Day 1 is done! I drove from the Degani Inn all the way to Albuquerque New Mexico. The #rcgypsy life continues, as I was on the 40 heading into AZ when I received a message from some random dude inviting me to stay at his house in Albuquerque. After he said that they were making tacos it was a done deal! Sounded too good for this rcgypsy to miss! Isn’t it amazing how life works, and the good people you meet when you be yourself and aren’t afraid to put yourself out there? This is me, this is what I believe, this is what I do, let’s go racing and have fun… Never ceases to amaze me.
Jimmy wrenches on his RC stuff in the kitchen. His wife Ashley doesn’t even care. Pffff, liberals…..
Nothing some duct tape can’t fix. #rcgypsy don’t let some bullshit van parts falling off slow you down. It’s more aerodynamic now too. Bonus! Better gas mileage.
So it’s finally gonna happen. Van is packed up, and I’m going to drive across the country to the East Coast! Soon I will have been in more states than most Americans! It’s a bit of a drive, so I’m going to stay on the East Coast for April. After the Psycho Nitro Blast I am heading to the SpeedRC Grand Opening of the outdoor track, and I will visit whatever other tracks and races we figure out are suitable once I get over there.
If you want to try the JQ White Edition LV, I will have one extra car all built ready to go, for anyone who wants to race it. True story.
Also, maybe I will finally meet these elusive JQ haters. So far haven’t seen many in real life, but surely there will be some on this trip, maybe even some sporting the confederate flag. It’s gonna be emotional! I will keep you updated on here with my progress.
