A translation of this would be: “If you believe in yourself…..you may still be completely shit.” To me this encompasses the Finnish almost twisted uber humbleness and the often self depreciating dry humour, that people outside of Finland find hard to understand. It’s sort of a funny negativity, that’s often so dry that people take it as actual negativity. It’s this sense of, “What doesn’t kill you, pisses you off.”
