I think tipping is bullshit. I didn’t even realise how bullshit it was before this year. American restaurants and bars can pay their workers peanuts (2.13usd and hour), as the tips make up for the different between whatever the minimum wage is. I always thought tips were just a bonus. Tipping is basically a way for companies to not have to pay their employees, and shifting the burden of paying someone to the consumer, who may be someone who also works for tips. I wish I could have employees I didn’t need to worry about paying, people would just throw in a few extra bucks every time they buy spares.
This is the same thing as paying someone commission. So you pay your sales reps per hours they work or per kit they sell?
How is it the same?
Tips come from customers based on experience. If the employer paid servers without being tipped your food prices would increase.
Commission sales means you are paid for your performance. The better you do as in more sales increases your income.
If you had to pay your Reps hourly the price would have to be passed onto the consumer increasing kits prices. Correct?
Food prices may increase, which would be better than tipping. People tip regardless of performance, it is expected, so it doesn’t really work. You can be a shitty server and still get tips. If you drive a taxi you just drive from point A to point B and you get a tip. No incentive there to do something extra.
No my kit prices wouldn’t change.
Wrong JQ, In California, all waiters make $10 an hour plus tips beesh,,, So sorry you had to tip the Barber $2 to cut your afro!!!
